Thanks for all the info Joe.
I feel like he may have a chance given his fuel supply. Either way he will have a trip he will never forget.

Looks like he made it to Sanibel Island on day 1.

I have fond memories of great fishing trips in the area in the 80’s

I’ve been following. He was kicking arse till he encountered the first obstacle. He now has parts of his boat held together with JB Weld.
Don’t get me wrong I’m pulling for the guy. I’m hoping he completes this without being killed

He didn’t get as far as he wanted last night, but still making progress.

The Lady Lor (the 40 foot Contender that is trying to set the record also) had to replace the helm the other day … steering went out of the girl!

We will see how this “race” shakes out …

When he went out to the gulf stream he was hit by a storm and was traversing 8-16 foot waves in his Jon Boat! He said it was fun and put a smile on his face ... broke his seat! He is nuts! But a good-natured nutcase! LOL!

It looks like he is staying inland now. That storm must not have been as big fun as he said. Unless staying inland was planned all along. 🤔
