If you have or are considering adding a spin on water separating fuel filter, this is a must read!!!

Apparently Marine Fuel Filter is a product where you really do get what you pay for. The article compares the 3 configurations (Merc, OMC, Racor), for size, filter ability, capacity and quality of construction. Well worth the time to read. And it has pictures too!

Rule of thumb...
Change it every season and you won't have any problems.

Sidebar: I took my 'Ray to my marine mechanic last mid-season. He made a point to tell me that he was impressed that I actually had a marine cartridge on it. Evidently, the majority of people use an auto oil filter.

I've been using 10 micron filters and changing them every 30-60 days, cheap insurance.

I should've stated that I've been doing that since this summer, we've been having some real issues with ethanol here, we've measured as much as 30% coming out of local gas pumps.

WOW.
At least that should take care of any water problems.:)

I better start stocking up on fuel pump diaphrams for my old OBs while they're still available.
