Is this how you guys clear snow off your tracks?
This is one of the great train journeys of the world.
Goes thru the Southern Alps of NZ, which are quite spectacular.

Australia 2 great tyrain journeys, the Indian Pacific (goes from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific), and the Ghan (goes from bottom to top of Aussie, named after the Afghanistani camel drives who took camel trains thru the outback in the 1800's. (ghan is an Aussie abreviation probably with racial overtones).
Cheers

As a side issue, my wife's uncle was a Dr (died last year) who lived here. He was an Explorer, Mountaineer, Expedition Leader in his younger life - (missed the really big one - too young at the time). He was a piper and use to take his nephews into the mountains above this forest line to the snow grass, and they would all play their pipes. Had one nephew over here last week. Him and his brother both invited to play pipes with Bands at Edinborough Tattoo in their younger days.
