Re: Greatest boating website ever except

Just want to say thanks to the mods for keeping it clean around here and providing a family friendly place to hang out! Really appreciate that!:D

There are more than enough places on the web for a dude to check out women in skimpy swim suits.

Iboats seems to be quite unique, lets keep it that way.

There are a bazillion fora for adult males only. This is a family forum and we think that means we keep sex and sexy topics out.

JB, we very much appreciate your efforts as well as those of the other mods. Thankless task I'm sure. Just wanted to say thanks.;)

There is an "Adults Only" section in the Inboard/Inboard Outboard section...may be worth checking out!! :D

Um, IMHO, I like the "family feel" of the site for one primary reason...I can look at it at work and never have to worry about something that could come across offensive if someone walked by and looked at the computer screen.

That doesnt only go for the forums, but also the advertisments etc...

I know I'll be doing research on the web sometimes and a site that has the information I need will also have some big advertisement on the side that has very little fabric on some young hot female body...obviously not what I want as people are walking around!

I'm with you. No politics. No sex. Just boats, etc. There are plenty of sites that don't stick to the subject, if a guy wants to visit them. This isn't one of those. But, if you have a question about boats or related subjects, this is the place to be.

I'd post a pic of her, but it appears like people would rather look at a picture of a prop or maybe a picture of other dudes....lol.

You can email me pics of your wife directly if you like:D

Thanks for the offer... she doesn't like me sending pics via email... she/we prefer some kind of gallery where we can post pics and enjoy the pics others post.

Re: Greatest boating website ever except

I find topics along the lines of this one amusing.

I belong to a fair amount of message forums. Some have no rules for posting this stuff, some have strict rules against it, and others have sections dedicated to it.

My take is this, your on the internet. If your looking for scantily clad, or naked women, there are plenty of places to find them. I head to a boat site to read, look into, research and share about boats. If/when I have the desire to see women in their birthday suits, then I would head to those type of sites.

I plan to share photos from my boat outings, and if they happen to have girls in bikinis, then so be it, but I don't see me contributing to an all half naked girl thread.

BTW I'm 25, not old, not washed up, not new to the internet, I just prefer forum content to remain what the site is dedicated to.

Agree that this is a boating site and should remain that way. But compromise and ingenuity are all part of life. Might I suggest a "show us your rod holders" thread??!! LOL.

Re: Greatest boating website ever except

I agree... we need a photo gallery! On others sites, they have a yearly fee and one of the advantages is to see the photo gallery that always has a bikini section and sometimes an uncensored bikini gallery

Most women don't take offense to bikini photo's... if a women has a nice body, then show it off! Its always the not-so-pretty women that complain about the lack of respect, etc, etc...

That's a really strange thing to say, you know. We have many women members here, and plenty of folks who post photos of their families on the water and in their boats. There are photos in the Activities section of this forum.

Lots of photos of wives and kids, all having fun on the water. Pets, too. The photos reflect the membership, which is mostly people with families. I believe I may even have seen a swimsuit or two.

I can't see any need for a "bikini section" on iboats.com. There are plenty of other forums that have such sections. As for your mention of "not-so-pretty" women, our wives are all beautiful to us.

Re: Greatest boating website ever except

I really think most of you guys are missing the point. It isnt about creating a special forum or anything, or going porn hunting on the net. I've been on forums for years and years (mostly cars, boats are new for me) and all of them are a friendly environment. There are lots of "post your boats (cars), post pics of yourselves, post pics of your girls" threads. You can participate if you want, or don't if you don't want.

So if he had said "Make a post of yourself so we can see who our members are" and some of the ladies posted themselves in bikini's, is that making it too sexual for this site?

I'm new here so not trying to make any waves (see what I did there lol) but forums that are all high and mighty or are solely technical arent any fun. This is the best boating forum i've seen yet and it doesn't give that vibe, aside from this particular thread.

Nobody is trying to be high and mighty, but this forum is hoseted, free of charge, by iboats, a RETAIL BUSINESS. The mods are just trying to keep things inline with our hosts desires.

When was the last time you saw a wet t-shirt contest at west marine???? Across the street at hooters, maybe. Different business, different atmosphere.

A more comparible idea would be when was the last time you saw a girl in a bikini at a boat store, and fairly regularly would be the answer around here. To each their own, just trying to get a feel for the site I guess.

Well, the thing is that the owner of the site sets the rules. Other sites have different rules. Lots of people find this site useful, and lots of people work very hard for no pay to help those who have questions. That's what the forums are for, for the most part.

Folks who don't find the site to their particular taste have many other sites they can visit. The owner of the site makes the rules. That's how stuff works. It is what it is.

If you want a site with a gallery of young women in bikinis on boats, PM me and I'll suggest one to you. This site isn't that one.

I think the OP said there wasn't any rules against it that he read, and its not just about random chicks on boats, at least not how I read it. Its about members wives/gf's/friends, real people not some model or whatever. Maybe im wrong though.

Sidenote: I was just reading your article on boat buying, nicely done.

Re: Greatest boating website ever except

The basic rule that applies is that this is a family-oriented site. As someone else said, such threads have been started, but soon got out of control. Lots of people post photos of themselves and their families here, but the object is not to ogle women in bikinis. Most of the photos have kids in them, too.

I believe the OP was talking about posting photos of his "hot" girlfriend or wife. It's the "hot" part that is the problem. As I said, there are other boating sites where that's the norm.

And thanks for the comment about that thread!
