Green fuel???

I just rebuilt my 115 Mariner inline and got i started today. Fired up and ran for about 3/4 minutes and I shut it off and started it again. This time it shut down again, so I pumped the ball again and noticed its not coming up to pressure. It did start again but ran a little shorter. Pumped the ball again and fired it up. Ran even shorter, maybe 15 seconds. So I disconnected the fuel line to the filter to check if fuel was coming through. It was, but it's green. The fuel is from las year and has Stabile additive in it. Any thoughts? Stabile is red.

stabil increases normal fuel life expectancy by 6 months. so if you have E10 fuel that starts breaking down in 30 days, your fuel can last up to about 7 months. if you have pure gasoline (lasts about 6 months) - adding stabil will keep the fuel from breaking down to up to a year.

my guess is you started with E10 and the fuel has broken down.

What color 2 cycle oil do you use? Does the motor have oil injection or do you mix oil with gasoline?

That is a good thought because my oil is blue/green. I did solve the problem and got it started last Sunday. Just need to adjust the throttle cables as it run great with the plates wide open, but when I bring the throttle lever back to idle the motor shut down. I've set the timing according to manual specs at .464 before TDC, so I think I have to adjust the brass adjusters on the motor.

The .464" specification is to help you adjust the timing pointer to read exactly top dead center. It has nothing to do with the ign timing specifications. Normally, after you accurately adjusted the timing pointer (using the .464 mark) to read TDC, you set the idle pickup timing to about 4*BTDC and the max timing to 21*BTDC. Of course without knowing what the year of the motor is, the idle pickup timing spec is just a proximity guess.
