Great job 'speck!! I would add that all sports have the problem of filling the three hours plus with something meaningful. Baseball and Cricket may do the best job of this as innings are individual games in a way. Basketball is the worst at this IMHO.

It could be argued that NASCAR is a combination of races from caution to caution, and that staying out of trouble while staying on the lead lap while simultaneously preparing the car and the crew to be there at the end is very definitely entertaining all the way through. There are boring races for sure, but so far this season I think the races have been pretty good. Martinsville was great!

Umm.... A real game of cricket lasts 5 days.... not 3 hours.

In all the conspiracy about teammates wrecking intentionally, why couldn't it happen under the old system. You are clear in the back with a beat up car, your teammate is leading the race with worn out tires, or minimal fuel and second place is right on his bumper looking for a way to get around and has plenty of gas and fairly new tires, only 3 laps to go. Cool, hit the wall and your teammate wins under caution.

It could, and it did. But NO ONE liked finishing under caution, so it didn't happen that often. Certainly not 57% of the time, like is happening with G-W-C!

I've been a fan for 30+ years and while I don't agree with all the changes, most have been good, and beneficial to driver safety, it's terrible to watch your favorite driver die.

PLenty of "real racing" as you put it achris, just in other series'.

Like SCCA, American LeMans, IRL, WKA DIRT, SVRA, AMA, AHRMA, CCS, KIC, IMSA, Rolex Grand AM, MCSSC, NASA Rally Sport, Rally America, USRC, and CORR.

hey what is that? they racing the shuttles around or something? I knew the space program was ending for the shuttles but I didn't know they were going to start racing them.

i know somedays people wish I never got out of bed. LOL

Yes, I know about Test matches, and that was definitely a mistake including Cricket in the same sentence as a reference to three hours. More like Golf in that regard.
