Grommet for pole popped out of cockpit cover. Replace or add vent?

Hi all, I have an 18' Bayliner bow rider with the typical two snap on covers. One covers the bow area and the big one covers the cockpit. There are three telescoping poles for support that mate to the canvas with grommets. One of the grommets for the top of the pole popped out of the canvas. I have the grommet and "maybe" can salvage it. Or if not, get one of those kits to replace it. I was thinking, should I get one of those plastic vent devices? Can the vent device mount in the canvas with the grommet missing? Would my old pointed pole fit it?
Oh, I don't have a moisture or mold problem, but I figured the vent wouldn't be a bad idea.
Thanks,
Joe

Take it to your local canvas shop... Shouldn't cost much to have it repaired... Worst case they sew a small patch on and put in a new grommet.

I'm going to try "EZ Grommets". Ordered them here at iboats. I will report back on their performance.
