guages not working.......?

My fuel guage and temp guage do not work.. any reasons for this and how do i correct? Fuel will move from full to empty all day.. never know how much fuel i have.. and temp will not get over 110 Also the speedo and depth finder dont work.. what is it with guages.. seem to never work.. really just want the fuel and temp to work>>> is this a costly repair? 88 omc 305 GM engine ( fourwinns

Check the grounds to the gauges, engine and battery. Take them apart, clean them and re-assemble. A ground may look good and even measure good with a low current meter but actually be compromised in use.
