Why invite a bunch of freeloaders? Our group all meets up at the designated area "with our own boats". Been doing it this way for decades...

I understand, I had a party at the house (on the lake) I asked they let me know so I didn't over buy Boston Butt for bbq. Guess what 10 didn't show thats 10 pound of bbq at 1.79 lb not alot but it is boat gas money. No invites for them next year.

I just saw your Pic you don't invite because there is no room for more ridders. Great pic.

This has to be the funniest thread I've seen on this forum.

We don't supply the entire makings of the menu when we go out with friends, we let them know what it is and expect them to contribute to the effort. If they don't show, no biggie, we have ours. My boat is BYOB and with our group and I've never had to ASK for anyone to kick in for fuel. It's there at the end of the day. So the best advice i can give is pick your boat mates carefully. Mutual respect is the first requirement for riding with us.

+1
I usually have my friends throw up$15-20 for gas a few days ahead of time. You can bet your a** that once you have their $$ they won't be backing out.

Backing out with little or no notice or real excuse seems to be the norm for about anything these days. Parties, campouts, volunteer gigs, school functions, babysitters, you name it, people will break a commitment for any or no reason and leave you hanging.
