Just curious, I live here, and never seen it all, only have a 19' boat, I usually stay not too far away, but even a days travel from here, there is so much to see, you could go every weekend and not see it all.

Going to bed to this aint so bad.

And waking up to this is pretty nice too, having a coffee.

Ya, it really is awesome here. I take it for granted sometimes. I really need to get out and enjoy it more!

I was born and live in Powell River, just north of Vancouver, and have lived/worked around many of the northern islands from Sechelt up to East Thurlow Island/Phillips Arm area and there is no more beautiful country (IMNSHO :D ) anywhere! I worked on fish farms and taught SCUBA for years, have always had a boat in the family and grew up on seafood caught within sight of our house! I've seen the prairies and as far east as Ontario, and been as far south as San Diego. Even traveled to England a few times. Theres nowhere I'd rather live than the Pacific Northwest! It's Boaters Nirvana! :D

I'm from Surrey, am I allowed to comment here?

hehe... inside joke :)

We go crabbing and fishing up the arm, and waiting on my new outboard to start going up sechelt way. I once took my 14' aluminum from gibsons/sechelt, to Nelson Island north of madeira park. It was quite the adventure with a 7.5hp motor on those seas!!!! :)

Beautiful area though.. great because it's so close to vancouver, and yet, terrible because it's so close to vancouver :)

Ha ha. Ya, Vancouver's ok i guess. I don't like it there much. I love it here though. On a good day you could go everywhere around here in your 14' ALU boat!! Good to hear from a somewhat local!

Well, my sister-in-law just bought a house and became a Surrey girl and we haven't disowned her, so I guess we can let you in too. :p :D

I used to work on fish farms around Hardy & Nelson Islands and down into Sechelt Inlet. Lots of places to explore with a small boat. My favorite was when I was running the crew boat (24' welded alum with a 6 cyl JD turbo diesel) from Saltry Bay through the rapids into Sechelt inlet every day. Running the Skookumchuck on a 16 knot flood tide is better than any rollercoaster!

That sounds like way too much fun. I'd love to go there and check that out.
