My wife is taking my high school senior daughter and two of her friends to Gulf Shores for a Spring Break trip. My college senior daughter and I were going in another direction for a "last hurrah" trip before she starts her working life. The college senior daughter is now thinking that she might like to also head towards Gulf Shores.

Here's my question: What's the boating scene like down that way? I have a 21' Four Winns 214 Funship deck boat. I thought that it might be an interesting diversion from the beach to have the boat down there. Is there any water suitable for tubing and skiing? Are there any "boating for dinner" type of places? I am a fresh-water lake and river boater and it is a 650-mile tow from Louisville, Ky.

There are few places better to do what you're looking for. Miles of bays and inlets and I/c waterways. Only problem you'll have is finding accommodations. Best kept secret on the Gulf IMHO
