Re: Gun Sales Up

Guns won't be banned, but you will see stricter gun legislation with the left running things for sure. That's the reason I'm hearing at the gun range. I've been wanting a Saiga 410 semi-auto with pistol grip for home protection. Will probably get one after the holidays.

Correct, they won't ban them all together. The government learned a long time ago they can't blatantly take your right away. What they can do however is slowly take a piece at a time so you don't notice it. Or make it such a expense or hassle that you wouldn't want your right anyways. Look at micro stamping on the firing pins. Or registered serialized ammunition. They haven't tried to take anything away, but it'll drive the cost of manufacturing up so high, no one will be able to afford it.

On a side note it's also important to remember this. Something that most people don't understand.

The constitution doesn't grant you rights to anything. It protects you from your government taking rights away from you.

I agree that the times are dangerous, but not for the same reason you do. People worried about how hard it is to purchase semis or specialized ammunition for civilian use need to be looking at things from the other side. The easier it is for you to get it, the easier it is for the bad guys. Then you end up with convicted criminals who protect themselves from trick-or-treaters using assault rifles.

You're all right--a gun is just a tool. So is a nuclear reactor. If I decide I want to go off the grid, you think anyone's going to sell me a nuclear reactor? I can still make my own power, but the government has a right to say what I get to use to make it.

I certainly think the high capacity ban will retrun and the assault weapon ban which did nothing more than change stock styles.
