gunk leaking from exhaust

I have an 84' force 50 hp outboard. The engine hasnt been run in 2 years. The last it was running it was operating smoothly (including shift functions). I cleaned out the carb and ran the motor today for the first time since 2 years ago. It was never flogged for storage. Before turning it over i squirted oil in both cylinders and let it sit for about 30 minutes and turned it over w/o plugs just to ensure lube. The engine started on the first turn over and seemed to run smoothly. I had it submerged in a 55 gallon drum because ears never worked for this motor. I ran the motor for about 10 minutes and drained the drum. I noticed later on that a thick gray gooey liquid was dripping out of the exhaust hole just above the prop. It made a puddle about the size of a basketball before it stopped. I havent checked the oil level of the lower unit yet. Any suggestions on what this could be? It has me worried. Thanks

Chances are it is the oil you squirted into the cylinders. If you are worried it is lower unit oil remove the drain plug and let a couple drops of oil out and verify there is no water in the gear housing.
