Yea Im going to try and drill out as much as the bolt as possible, then either use reverse drill bit, or pick out the threads. If that doesnt work, I have a 1/4-20 fix a thread set that will go to good use.

Okay fellas, so I tried to drill out as much as the old bolt as possible, but unfortunately, I could not get it out without damaging the old threads. I ended up going the helicoil route, and honestly I don't think the machine shop could have done a better job than I did. Thanks to my neighbors drill press and a fresh set of drill bits, the new threads that were cut for the coil looked excellent. Here she is.

don't forget to break the "tang" off of that heli-coil before putting a bolt in there. looks like it is still there in the pic. could ruin the heli-coil if bolt runs down that far when tightening.
