Here is what he said

Remind us again why you need to know the year that your motor was produced. Is it to buy the correct parts?

Here is some more Yamaha data that indicates to me that your motor was probably produced in the early 2000's. That data shows a PID prefix of 6H0 which is what you say that your motor has. The L or the X only indicates the shaft length for the lower unit. Otherwise the two models are the same.

Having said this, an 80 two stroke oil injected model is an 80 two stroke oil injected model. The parts, for the most part, regardless of the year of production, are mostly, if not always, one and the same.

Thanks boscoe99, yes just wanted age in case I needed parts and to buy the correct manual.
I was also wondering if the seller had been honest for once lol.
