heyy, i have a 10' gw invader, and i had a 1955 25hp johnson, and now i have a 1968 40hp on it now. with the 25 it went 33mph and now it feels marginaly faster. should it feel ALOT faster, or could i have a slow prop on it, and does anyone know what pitch prop i should use. the boat weighs about 350 pounds and is a VERY shallow V hull. thanks

Re: gw invader speed

If you check eBay you might be able to find an old Michigan 2-blade bronze wheel in the 15-17-inch range. It'll probably have an AJ-prefix in the model number. If I can find one of mine I'll look up the model for you. You can also jack them up a bit with the 2-blades - keep going until you blow out the prop on take-off, and keep an eye on your water output for cooling. I run an old 30hp Johnson at about 18-inches up on the transom, so they'll work that high just fine...

- Scott
