Hey everybody some of you may remember me asking your advice on stuff the last month or so but I am pretty much done with my 69 10 foot Invader so thought I would post a few pics.

Its not great but looks decent and hopefully will be fun for me and the kid.I bought it about 15 years ago for 12.00 at a farm sale.It was just the boat,no trailer or motor but was solid and all there otherwise.

I had to pay 175.00 for the Jetski trailer,35.00 for the impeller kit,100.00 for the seats and about 30.00 for top paint,5.00 for carpet. The 28HP Johnson was free with all the controls and wiring included.I have quite a bit of time in it and wish it had come out better but I am on a real budget here and it is nice to be able to use it finally this year after it sitting here for 15 years. Also was running out of time as the son is getting older.Anyway thanks to everyone who helped and put up with all my silly questions here.

I would really like to have a bigger motor and may if something comes along I can afford,I also want to put a updated steering like a teleflex rotary but thats just not in the budget this year but will be next year if we like it enough.

I have a few small details to finish up but it is pretty much ready to go as is...Oh I do need to paint the trailer yet as it looks really bad...Bruce

Re: GW Invader

Thanks,I would like to see a Brand new 50 too,but its not financially possible.I have heard from a couple people that they will do around 60MPH with a 55HP on them.55HP is what the sticker says is the max HP rating.I talked to a guy in Missouri and they used to run these back in the day and he ran a 80HP on one and said it would go right at a 100MPH.Guy had to have a deathwish I guess.I figure it will do around 35MPH and and that may be fast enough for a old fool anyway,LOL.It really does not weigh much. The boat itself I think weighs around 225 from what I have read but have never weighed it.

Getting pretty excited for the weather to turn so we can get a test run in.Been just miserable around here.I do not think I have seen the sun for around 6 months.Should break in the next month I hope...Bruce
