I have been contemplating attempting to tune my Astro 1700's set-up and have decided that it would be good to pick up a Teleflex Water Pressure Gauge seeing as my boat did not come with one originally. I attempted to find some installation threads, but didn't find any for that motor. Do the Teleflex gauges come with clear instructions on the installation and is this something that some one with decent mechanical knowledge can perform?
I looked at my manual and found that the water temperature switch is located on the back side of the engine... to the left of the spark plugs... about midway up the engine. Is this where I would use a "T" and tap into the water system with the water pressure gauge? Just wanted to make sure I had the right idea and get some quick help before attempting to get this done this weekend.
