Re: had a nice visit from a highscool friend on facebook
I have been in contact with many "pre-facebook" via classmates, the Army.mil web site has helped me keep in contact with many of my prior service friends, and yes facebook has helped fill in the gaps.
One of my former classmates owns a large Inn/Banquet center and there are quarterly get together's there but I am just a bit too far away to participate.
Scary part is how many I graduated with and have vanished. I went to HS with a class size of 1000 (yup thousand!) and my late wife graduated in a neighboring school with a class close to 500. Big classes with many students and many have vanished........
OR..... the true fact is many people of that era are not computer users.
The older people are limited by not using technology (actually not keeping up).
On May 9th a very good old friend celebrated his 57th birthday. He was my Best Man in my first wedding and I call him every year on his birthday and he reciprocates by doing the same for me every Sep 24th. We have been doing that for as long as I can remember and have not missed one in well over 37 Years.
It's fun to see and catch up with old friends....... who is balder, grayer, parent, grandparent etc.
Sounds as if you too had a good time Oops....... so who looked older
