My prop was gone for a month getting rehubbed... I go to put it back on today and the piece that is supposed to attach to the splines of the prop shaft can't get to the splines. The prop is on as far as it will go, and those splines dont stick out far enough to allow that piece to slip on. Does it sound like they hubbed the prop wrong? Or is there something I dont know about thats keeping me from gettin it on there. I assume its a very bad idea to just get that thing extremely tight on there, as there's a reason it has that piece to prevent backing out. What should I do?

Not a whole lot to go on. You'd think that the rehubber examined your old hub and insured that the replacement matched it.....maybe not.

I would not put on a prop that didn't slide on easily with a snug fit.

The only thing I can think of, with limited data is that the hub they used may have a different frontal area requiring a different thrust washer. I know that when you buy a new prop (like from iboats) in the selection list they mention if you need a special thrust washer for that prop.

You might try this: Remove your thrust washer and slide the prop on. Will it go in far enough? If the answer is yes, I'd get in touch with the rebuilder and get the right thrust washer for that hub.
