Just tested spark with a spark tester. People talk about "hot blue" spark. mine was orange. But was good sized. It even started up twice while testing. I had my wife literally just flip the key as fast as she could. no gas lines were even hooked up and it started up that quickly after the first one.

If you have an orange spark, not a white-blue with a "snap" you might have found some of your problem.

Can i put muffs on this, let it idle enough to get warm and see if it works that way? I dont know the rules to what you can and cant do with muffs or in a barrel

Something else I may not have explained right. I used an inline spark tester. That was where I saw the orange spark. Not from the spark plug itself. does that matter?

Where did the spark come from if not the spark plug? Using an adjustable spark tester, you should get a nice snappy spark that'll jump a 7/6ths air gap from all of the plugs.

heres where im at today.

Picked up a new spark tester set it to around 30. It was a thin long white line of spark going through it.

Put muffs on it and started it. well after about a minute it wasnt peeing. so i stopped with the muffs. through it in a tub and peed no problem. shut it off a few times and started no problem. this was on the "bad tank" too. I pulled the plugs after it idled for a while. they looked fine. So sometime soon im going to get it on the water so I can open it up and see what happens. Ill have some spare plugs with me on the lake. Im guessing the motor just flooded out and was killing the plugs.

Went out and did a lot more WOT then I have ever been able to so far. Although, tonight was much cooler. I had zero issues.

So, I dont know, im hoping it was just a flooding issue.
