I have a 1991 150 Evinrude outboard. When I idol for a while (a couple of min) it starts to miss and cut off.
I checked the plugs and the 3 on the left side are fine. I think they are cylinders 2,4,6. The 3 on the right side all are wet with oil. cylinders 1,3,5.
What could be causing this? I don't have the VRO set up. that was removed when rebuilt 3 years ago. I use evinrude oil. 50-1. plugs are about 2 years old.

Sorry I said above that all 3 of the plugs on Right side of motor were wet.
Actually only the bottom 2 were wet. I believe they are cylinders 3,5. You could put your finger in the plug hole and it would have oil on it.

The boat is running great. A little rough when first started cold but warms right up. Comes up on plane easily and Idol's fine most of time.
Will try drop test this afternoon.

Wet plugs indicate a cold running cylinder.-Time for a compression test.
