I got busted by the kids, getting in the candy before halloween....

I told them i bought it, i can eat it.. That didnt fly.
Dang teenagers.

We always wait until 2 days before to buy the candy.The wife gets what we will give away then I throw in the couple of bags for myself. We never run out so I get all the leftovers.

You gotta love the day after halloween, all candys 70% off usually, but you got to get there early.

V-day is the same way. doz roses for $5! decorationg for Halloween is more fun than x-mas. bloody heads and fake spiders that move. I got a fog machine this year....hehe

We still enjoy a good halloween laugh, Last year the wife got a giant fury halloween spider and put it in her cars trunk, I didnt know it was there and she told me to get some sodas out and watched as I opened the trunk, It startled me for a second and the wife almost fell off of our porch laughing,,,,I always pick out some of the best candy before the kiddies get there.

I wait till after they are done T&T'n and I tell them house rules are house gets 50% of the loot...and I own the house I WANT MY CUT....lol

For some reason my three year daughter has been running around saying chocolate will rot her brain. I have no idea where she came up with it but I think it will be useful in a couple of weeks.

We dont have door to door tr eaters here, the houses are too far apart and off the road. So the town has a setup where the participants set up tailgates to pass out to the kids. dont go any more.

I'll take your liquor, but you can keep the licorice.. I love taking kids trick or treating, especially the young ones, you can always grab whatever you like and explain to the kids that it's not safe, so you must "dispose of it properly." My favorite line is: "If I leave the candy with you kids, you will eat it all. It is safer to let me hold onto it for you. . "

This is one of my pet peeves. The correct spelling of the day a great many of us celebrate is Christmas, not xmas or x-mas. Please don't insult our religion by referring to it otherwise. It only requires the typing of 4-5 more letters and you're not being charged by the number of letters you type. They're free.

I say BAH HUMBUG to XMAS...

Besides we all know XMAS is more about Santa and opening presents than celebrating a certain beings birthday who wasnt even born on that day...

Yeah, in todays society that is the way it has turned out. I do not like and and I know it is about more than presents...

As to Christmas vs X-mas. It is a pet peave of mine too, but I can tolerate it in an enviroment like this, each to his own. I really get Bugged when retail businesses do it... There was a big stick few years ago because Walmart wanted to use X-mas on all holiday stuff, instead of spelling out Christmas. They ended up changing their minds...
