Hey everyone, I have a 1994 larson hampton 220. When I put it away this past fall (first season with the boat) I noticed standing water in the bow portion of the cabin in the small storage compartment. I traced this leak to being from standing water in the bow anchor well. The anchor well has two drain holes but they do not extend to the very bottom of it - basically water was sitting below the anchor well's drain holes and seeping into the front part of the cabin where it was then standing in this compartment that has carpet over it. I sucked this water out with a shopvac and looked this spring to find it filled back up with water (was never in the water during winterization ,must have water getting into the anchor well). Looks like someone tried an expandable foam on this problem, where there is no wood or fiberglass between a section of the anchorwell and the rest of the boat. I think the foam dried out. I attempted to fill the six inch by 3 inch triangular gap with four layers of fiberglass cloth and resin, and then some 3M marine sealant on top of that. I also weatherstripped the door to the anchor well. Has anyone else had this problem with leaking out of the anchor well? Seems like a very poor design to be able to accumulate standing water in the anchor well that can't drain. Very poor placement of the drains indeed. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jer
