just got back from the tail of the grand banks sword fishing, while we were out a school of bluefins were around the boat feeding on what ever bait we would give them, but do think they would take a hook?these fish are really smart. after an hour and almost a 100lb of sqiud we finnally hooked one by covering the hook with black electical tape.we used about 500ft of rope and 3 jet bouys and when the fish come to the end of the line the bouys came tight and snapped the 500lb test as if it was string. These fish are very powerful and you dont want to get your hands in the way, well the trip was long almost 3 weeks but it was a good one,we caught 301 swordfish, 17 bluefin and 6 big eye tuna for a grand total of 52800lbs,hope the price is up!

Congrats on your great swordfishing trip. Hope that you get big bucks for the trip. Some of the boats out of Gloucester use to go for 3-4 weeks like you do. a boat that ties up next to me just came back from sword fishing also. The name of the boat is MOONRAKER, skippered by John Mahoney.
