Hard Cranking

I have a '04 4.3l Alpha 1. Three brand new batteries with Perko switch. When I hit the key all I get is a click. Even with all three batts on line! Have been completely through the elec. sys. All looks good and clean. Here's the good part... if I pump the throttle lever a couple times it will crank (first hit)and start every time!!! Why?

Have you tried just shaking the throttle control, instead of pumping it? Could be neutral safty switch problem.

I didn't think it would be the nuetral switch because it is clicking. The n/switch should inhibit the solenoids completely...no click.<br />But I will check it out. Thanks
