Hard steering Alpha 1

It seems to take a lot of force to steer my boat. It's like trying to steer a full sized 60's car with no power steering around a parking lot. I don't think it was always this hard, but I'm not 100% sure. Does this level of force sound reasonable?

The steering fluid is full.

Ayuh,... The odds are the end of the steering cable is corroded inside thealuminum tube at the transom...
Take it apart, Clean it, 'n Grease it...

I had a hard time steering it turned out to be a plugged oil cooler. The fluid had no way of getting through and so it would steer hard. In that case, the steering would "walk" however. Checked it by simply bypassing the cooler an hooking the low pressure return line directly to the pump.
