Hard to get running after warm up

My son has a 2003 Evenrude 175, starts fine cold, after warm, starts up and stalls out after 10/20 seconds, this will happen maybe 15 times before we get it in gear and take off, and then it runs fine again. Any idea whats wrong?

Have you ever tried pumping the primer bulb when it happens ??

No but will try it next time out. We're open to any suggestions.
