Hard to start 3.0 when hot

Hi just wondering if anyone has had the same problem. when we stop the engine 3.0 Mercruiser after skiing, she gets hard to start, is this a fuel problem and does anyone
have a fix for it.
The engine starts instantly when cool/cold and runs perfectly.

Nope choke it off, we don't use it at all.

so there is no choke on the carb??

is this a TKS model??

or even a new MPI 3.0 liter??

Yes, there is a choke on the carb but it's adjusted so it never works, we don't need it we where live.

I had the EXACT same problem on my 1997 3.0lx about 2 weeks ago.

Bond-o told me carb was leaking, which causes it to flood,...I took it in to the shop, and it was.

A carb rebuild and now it's good.

okay - if the choke is always open, once the engine is warm and running, remove the flame arrestor and look down the carb

have a helper shut the engine off while still watching the carb

if you see fuel running down the carb with the engine off - time for a carb rebuild

Yes everything is the same. throttle position, i don't even pump it, i just turn the key. it has not long had a carb rebuild so it should be fine. I've been told it could be fuel percolation caused by the heat.
it runs about 150 deg on the temp gauge.
I thought maybe wrapping the fuel lines in a heat resistant covering !!!

Whatever it seems to Like...

Held at WOT, a flooded motor will clear itself...

If it's perc'in' out, Pump it, 'n give it more throttle...

It's a Carb, not efi,...
It ain't got a 'puter, it Needs an Operator...
