I recently bought this motor from a guy who said it ran earlier this spring, but had trouble keeping it going. He replaced one of the coils mounted on the outside of the engine. So when I got it, I couldn't get it to start. I replaced and set the points at .020 and replaced the condensors. Put in new spark plugs and cleaned the carberator. I finally switched the coil wires on the outside and it started in a few pulls. So he must have had them opposite of what they were supposed to be. It is getting spark and fuel and has good compression. I started it a couple of times and it ran until I turned it off, but then I couldn't start it without it setting for a half hour at least. I am wondering if I am missing something simple or if I need to make adjustments somewhere. I was also wondering where the thermostat is on this model so I can see if it is stuck open or not. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
