Hard to start

I recently purchased a used 18ft run about with a Volvo Penta 230 Inboard. The engine runs like a top. But it has become difficult - and sometimes impossible - to start when cold. But once started and idle'd for a few minutes, it will run great. Can be stopped and will crank up fine. Any suggestions?

and easy thing to check is to remove the flame arestor and see if your choke is closeing when the motor is cold <br /><br />dont no for sure on the volvo but on a merc you need to turn on the key and pump the gas one time to set the choke<br /><br />tommays

I have a Four Winns Horizon with a six cylinder Volvo penta i/o engine. I am experiencing the exact same problems. If you have solvled the problem please let post your results. If I come up with any answers I'll also post again.<br /><br />Thanks
