Everyone is right about spending time with the kids. We do our best to balance that out and give one on one time to them. The problem is when there is school work to be done, its like pulling teeth. My question to them today....why do you give us a hard time everyday about doing your homework, when you know you have homework everyday? Answer: because we don't feel like doing it.

Well duh. I don't feel like going to work and your Mom doesn't feel like going to school, but we get up and do it everyday.

They tend to expect something for nothing even though NO ONE in the family is an example of that life. I think the problem is that throughout most of their school life, they are pretty much left alone in school by the teachers. They aren't the bad kids or the really struggling kids, therefore they don't warrant special attention. Since they are "the good kids" they aren't pushed to be better than "just enough".
