I am going to change my impeller this week and a friend of mine told me about a new synthetic impeller that is on the market.
Has anybody heard of this? Just wondering were i can get ahold of one of these puppys.
He told me that they last twice as long as your regular rubber or poly base impellers.
Sure would like to know were to get one, or get some opinions on how they stand ?
I will start looking around, but if anyone knows something about these just holler
Thanks everybody...

1990 Force 50 Hp....

Re: Has anybody heard of.....

I haven't seen any offered. I'd be interested as well. The subject came up at one of the factory classes about Urethane impellers that don't do well in cold water and had very little improvement in performance otherwise, and only marginal improvement on burning up if run dry. That was why the manufacturers stayed with rubber. But if there is a new material, it sure would be interesting to see how they perform.

Try reposting under the Outboard Non-repair Discussions. I'm sure all of the major manufacturers have looked into it. There are several industry experts that kinda look mainly at their particular brand, but sooner or later most of them end up there as well.
