Has anyone else seen this pattern?

I bought a 2002 Glastron GX 205 with a Volvo Penta (Chevy)5.0 GL-E, Single prop SX outdrive. The previous owner had overheated the engine and replaced it in 2004. Then overheated it again in 2006 they neglected it and I bought it last fall. Today I found an ad for the same type of Glastron down to the color. They had bought it in 2002 overheated in 2004 and replaced the engine but only have used it for 40 hours since. Both are fresh water lake boats. My two questions are is this a chronic overheating problem for this setup? Then, if so how to compensate and monitor so I don't repeat it? Thanks in advance.

Any engine can overheat if the impeller is damaged.

Not a common problem at all with those. Only happens due to lack of care by OWNER! What part of READ THE OWNERS MANUAL don't people get?????????

There is a lot more to PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE than impellers, and an oil change.
Go to the link below and download the owners manual, maintenance schedule and some other things for your engine. Best to use your SN, but using the 5.0GL-E in engine type will work as well.

Ayuh,... It's pretty darn Common in Alotta boats, not just Glastrons 'n Volvos...

It's directly attributed to an owner that thinks Boating requires, a Key,+ some Gasoline....

The Best way to compensate for these conditions is to perform Preventive Maintenance....

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad people feel that it is owner centered and not the equipment. I don't have a lot of experience and figured I "check the waters" on this one.
