has anyone ever shortend their bimini top? i have 5ft tall 4 bow sunbrella bimini that i would like to take down to 3 ft tall, can it be done without changing the canvas top?:)

i have cut the frames down. this is the same top cut down. and recolored. but it is a 3 bow.

should i remove the fittings at the center mounting point and cut the tubing there?

Im going to do the same thing, the risers are at an angle, so they must be cut so as to maintain the tension of the cover, on the three legs, while lowering the height of the bimini

I used a pipe cutter and bought s/s mountings instead of that plastic crap, on the box it say's to cut it down to the height required.. Cheer's from down under :cool:

bought it used, it was ok on my bayliner capri, now on my aft cabin cruiser which sits higher in the water, its about 6 inches too high to fit under a bridge that I must pass between two section of the lake I boat on. and is a foot over head at that. they refuse to raise the bridge.
