I was thinking about buying one, and wanted to know if anyone here has ever used one. If so, how does it work on hail damage? Does it even work at all?

nathan my opinion those things aren't worth fooling with. used a buddies of mine and had no luck in it at all. Hail damage won't just pop out when it hits it hits with such a force that it stretches the metal. What I have done in the past is take some dry ice on a hot day and lay a piece big enough to cover the dent and let it set and most of the time it will draw it out.
be sure to use gloves that stuff will stick to your skin and take the hide off

My father does custom Harley work and has one of these. It wont work on the hail or any other small tight creased dent. If its on a big panel where it caved in it will pull it out fine.

Ding King Works pretty well. Pulled out a small crease on my door, as well as a few small dings. Hail damage my be a little more than you bargain for.

I'm pretty anal and an art director. I have a good eye for detail. You can't even tell where pulled the dents.

It may take a few times to get it right, and It is not as easy as they make it seem on TV, but for $20 and a little bit of time, its worth it.

Remove the hood from a junk car, and smack it with a hammer.
Get a hot glue gun and a suction cup (toliet plunger werks, but is weaker than the flatter ones).
Experiment.
You can do no worse then fix-a-dent, and a whole bunch cheaper...Because essentially, that's all these gizmos are.

About a mile west of the Daytona Speedway is a year round flea market with one booth that sells all of these left over TV wonder fix-and-save tools. They seem to have one thing in common, they all work better in TV commercials than real life. However, for $20 if it actually pulls one dent you saved a lot of body shop bux. Next time I'm gonna try the dry ice trick, if it doesn't work the left over ice will at least cool some beer. ;)

Won't do anything that is creased. If the dent doesn't have "line" in the bottom, it will pop it out slick as can be. But, if creased, forget it - drill, pop, putty, and paint. That's the only way to fix it.

Hail damage is probably creased, and too small to grab and pop. Have to get behind to push it out and will still probably have the crease in it. However, will save the painting.

Good luck!
