what the hell are you talking about????? I took out some anderson windows before. They were triple pane. I had to trim back my siding a little. Make sure you have some siding handy. Also you want to make sure u use screens if its in your living room and you want to open them in the summer. but other than that to remove windows all u really need is a rock, hammer or a brick!! What application are you talking about???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Re: has anyone removed windows before??

sorry about the lack of info. I was typing and my computer locked up and I lost my full description then the baby started crying, so I quickly typed my first post:^.. here we go...I have a '78 Chris Craft Express hardtop 29ft. I have removed the lower front cabin windows. I need to clean the old sealant off the window openings. I don't know what it is that they used originaly. I'm wondering what would be the fastest and safest cleaner to use on the fiberglass/gelcoat to clean up the old sealant. Also what is the best sealant to use when I re-set the windows in?
thanks

There is a product called Debond that will break down cured marine sealants. It claims to turn an eight hour job into a couple of hours.
http://www.marineformula.com/
I manufacture marine windows and several local installers have recommended using 3m 4200 to install windows. Less permanent than 5200, and doesn't turn yellow over time as much as 5200.

Re: has anyone removed windows before??

just did all windows and hardtop on 1990 trophy hardtop
i use 3m general purpos adhesive cleaner i have found the the more you use the better it works so just pore it in the seems best you can and let it soak a few minuts then use a "dogbone" a nylon scraper get one from your glass shop best thing youll ever use wont hert the boat and you can scrape like hell. once you seperat all the parts use lots of gen purp adhe cleaner and get that dog bone scrapin once it is all clean we used boat life life seal becouse it is a silicone polyurathane blend should stick and last .chek out a web site called yaught survy .com and look up those leaky windows there is a great artical in there. the sealant you use to bed the window frames will depend on what they need to stick to gelcote teak etc. bedding the frames was a sticky mess so wen i put the top on i used a rubber weather strip for boat hatches and you know what it was a lot easier to work with and that is wat i will use if i ever do another top hope this helps
