Carburetor has been changed, new coils. It has no power after a quarter throttle. It has 150lbs of compression. It is a 33hp evinrude on a 14ft boat. It will only do about 10mph at full throttle.
I'm not sure of the year, it was just purchased used. Info on motor: Patent# 1956-1960; 33Hp at 4500rpm. Is there a way to find out the year on the motor? As for the work done on it, still not sure. It runs fine while idling and up till about quarter speed. After quarter there is no response;same speed at quarter as at full throttle. What should the setting be on the carburetor. Could the problem be the timing?
You say that the carb was changed. Did you just put another one on or a new one? Did you rebuild first or just stick one on? Make sure the high speed jet is clean. Any speck of stuff will cause problems. Does your primer bulb go soft? Are you sure you have spark to both cylinders even though the coils have been changed?
