So I hooked it up to the boat, looked clean. Hooked up the fuel amd have it a few pulls. Started up no problem. Tried again the next day and ran it for a bit no problems starting. On the third day at the boat launch couldnt get it to go after several minutes. There is a leak in the fuel pump gasket, if you pump the bulb fuel squirts out but only if squeezing the bulb. Have new gaskets coming. Just baffled since it started with that issue no problem. Where do I start?

Replace the leaking gasket in the fuel pump otherwise it might suck air in when it's running .
If that is just the gasket under the filter cover no problem but if you have to overhaul the pump itself see LeeRoys Ramblings
http://www.leeroysramblings.com/Rebuilding_fuelpump.htm
Take it apart very carefully.and note very carefully how its all put together. Get in muddle and it will take forever to sort it out.

Read also " Awakening a sleeping outboard" on the engine FAQ board
A lot of it refers to bigger engines but take note of what applies to smaller engines

I would check online for a couple of cheap fuel pumps -- need a fresh one either new or one you have rebuilt. What about the water pump? Should replace the impeller, then repeat every three years or so (depends on use -- river sand chews them up, for example).

When it started the stream was pretty weak since it was in a garbage can could of been some propeller wash not letting enough water by the intake. However do have a water pump kit amd impeller coming already today. First thing ordered. New fuel pump kit for gaskets coming as well. Should I change out plugs?

I would take a look at the plugs, and likely clean them up with some carb cleaner, then regap to .030 (likely). I like to use an emory board to shine the contact points as well. As you tune the engine, you are likely to mess up the plugs some, and could either repeat the above process, or replace them if more comfortable with new ones.

So the fuel pump cover was deff cracked. Replaced it and now idles really well at low rpm. But new issue came up, I had replaced the impeller, old one looked to be in good condition but still replaced amd cleaned out the intake screen, those were messy. Now I seem to have a leak coming from the thermostat and its dripping water on to the plugs at high rpm. I think it's just the gasket but I cant seem to find the part number to order a new one.

if it is just a water gasket... can you just cut one up from gasket material
