Hopefully this is of some help...... #80 is the guide, it pictures just one but there are two of them, one being slightly longer than the other...... #90 is the screw on plate with the guide ridges...... #81 is one of the grommets...... #93 is the O Ring that goes on top of the driveshaft

Mr reeves I took the lower unit all the way off again I am sick to my stomach I used the flash lite and found I did put a 1/2 inch kink in the tube .i have a question I see 2 screws on both sides of the pipe which I think has a flange up there holding it there .if I made a custom 20 inch screwdriver and got them out would the pipe come out. Maybe it's never been done before but would it com out. If power head is to come off does that mean all gas lines and ele wiring have to come off before any power head screws come out? Or can it lift up just enough to let pipe out. I have a new pipe

Maybe you got lucky. If you can see and access the flange and two screws you may be able to remove and reinstall it with that long screwdriver. I doubt if either Joe or I have attempted it. "Normal" way is to pull the powerhead and adapter plate below it. Did Joe mention helluva job? Believe it. BIG helluva job.

Fr. thank for the response you and I both know I can't do the power head it's my only chance .i want to understand that little kink which is not pinching it maybe a 1/8 of an inch inward would make it be to short or cause not enough water to go up which one ,if it's going to not let enough water who really knows that answer but if you all think the pipe will be to short to reach then that is different trying to put it back with the kink wouldn't work .am I talking crazy seeing I m not able to do the power head take off . Thanks for your time I feel like I'm fighting God and everyone else that I'm to never have this boat back on the water again

Ouch. I think I would go for the two screws. Maybe go to the hardware store for some Allen head screws to put it back together. They make Allen socket wrenches & extensions. You are in uncharted territory, but that's how we learn.

I guess the worst you could do is twist off the existing screws while trying to remove them. Then you are at that BIG job again. But that's where you are now, so what's to lose?

Yeah, they hold the tube flange to the powerhead adapter. There is a rubber grommet sealing the tube to the flange. It will all come down in your hand once the screws are out. Simple enough except for the access.

It’s possible to patch a tube with fuel hose, sliding the hose up the tube to join sections. If the fit is tight, that’s all you need. I’m not sure where the kink is — if at the end where your finger is pointing, you may be able to simply fix it with a needle nose pliers.

If the end needs to be replaced, and you can reach in and cut off two or three inches, you could replace the damaged end with tubing purchased at a hardware store — using fuel hose as described to join the pieces. You would need to determine how much tube is needed for insertion in the housing grommet, and allow for that.

Same technique if the kink is further up, provided you can reach up and cut off the tube above the damaged area,

Not something a shop would do on a customer’s motor, but a shade tree fix you might consider for your own motor. I’ve successfully done it when converting a motor to a long shaft, and had no issues with it. There are always options.

Yah where exactly is the kink? Is it higher up where it turns?
Did you know what your water pressure was as well?

Yeah, I looked at the pictures several times before I saw the kink. There is a serious kink a few inches above the finger. Probably causes a shortening of the tube, as well as restricting the water flow.
