Don you are a gent thanks.

Just from that I gather that my red to breaker is inverted on wrong side.
I don't have tan but do have 2 yellow one in each small post which I will buzz out tomorrow.

If I have shorted the slave then it explains why I keep blowing fuse between barrel and tachometer

Thank you again

Hi Don,

I did the correct test as described in the manual for the switching type and it clicks and energises on the main circuit but the ignition bypass is dead.

I have found the source of the problem, I must have killed it by putting the choke end of the resistance wire to it as it is paired with the ignition wire for the coil.

Thank you.

New solenoid ordered - sierra part.

Ah golf balls the shop sent the wrong solenoid.

Will sierra part 18-5820 oem 89-81899a2 work ?

Thanks once again

Well just in case this helps anyone, I dried the rivets holding the bottom cover on and repaired the ignition bypass coil on my solenoid.

Lubed and bolted together and now works a treat.

Only problem is still only got 3 volts at the coil but saved a solenoid.

I soldered the bypass flat section coil with a 30 watt iron and it holds up good.
