Re: Have you had a launch like this?

That definately is the funniest thing I've ever seen relating to boats...I would give a fortune to have been there and laughed harder than I just did!!! Two seasons ago I had a 22 foot Baja, put in the launch forgetting to put in the drain plug...Water made it all the way into the cockpit before I could get the truck and trailer back under it to get it out. Then, I drove home, got the plug, and proceeded to forget again about the plug...I did however explain to the spectators that I was merely trying to wash out the bildge, and engine compartment, LOL!!!

Unfortunately, the PWC is still afloat. Don't those things have a plug you can pull?

It looks like no one is on the PWC either. Someone will have to swim for that.

New PWC $3,500
New SUV $40,000
Trailer for your PWC Priceless.

i only wish the best for all you people...

with that said, i hope all jetskis become a thing of the past, that every one of them barter for a friggin rocketboat, then realize what wake damage & improper passing means, then all blow their motors, then chill out and sell them all for a sailboat.

and then find sailboaty and bug him with questions until he comes begging us to take him out and show him why he should only own a slow fishing boat... ;)

In Canada you must have a license to
operate a PWC 12ft and under. This law was
brought in and enforced Sept 2002.I have a
11ft zodiac, and now I have to have a license to
operate it with a small motor. By 2009 every
person who operates a water craft of any size
will have to have a license. Is there any laws
like this in the U.S.?

Anybody from Ohio remember a few years ago our noble pliticos tried to push a river use license on boaters? They had a big fancy name they called it. What it said was that if you want to use the Ohio River for any type of boating, you had to get this sticker for your boat. This was in addition to your regular boat license. Lasted 'bout a year. Guess those Good Ol' Boys in Columbus got a lot of nasty letters. From yours truly also.

OBJim ;)

Re: Have you had a launch like this?

Yes I have. Pretty dern close that is! I was 16 and my brother was 18 and we were taking the boat to the lake for the day buy ourselves for the first time. Got to the ramp and it was pretty steep. My brother backed the boat in the water and set the parking brake and got out into the boat. He told me to pull the trailer out. No problem you say. Well the car was a 1984 s-10 blazer, stick shift. And guess what I had never used one much less driven a car. So I hopped in and he said let the clutch out and give it some gas. So I did and it stalled and slidd a few feet back. Well to make a long story short at the end my brother was red in the face from yelling at me I was scared to death and my pants were getting wet and there was stuff floating in the car oh but the engine was still running. So I floored the gas took my foot off the brake and clutch at the same time and burned a 100 ft steak of rubber out of the water and out of the landing the only thing that stopped that car was turning the key off and slamming on the brakes. Lets just say I didn't drive fort a while after that. Of course now 15 years later I can look back and laugh. It was funny! :D

sloopy, you might want to check your math.

if he was 16 at the time, now it is 15 years later, that would be 31. 16+15=31

Re: Have you had a launch like this?

In defense of Sloopy, I think he took the age of Blazer(1984) which is 19 years old and added that to age of 16. If he did than his math is on. ;) Isn't that right, Sloopy? :D
