Have you noticed a drop off in junk mail?

I usually get 2 to 6 junk mails daily, but lately the numbers were dropping. I noticed that for the last few days my yahoo mail account has received no junk mail in the inbox!

Anyone else notice this? Maybe its just yahoo's mail engine is getting better? Or a crack down on junk mail spammers?

BTW, the last junk mail to be put in the Bulk (junk mail) folder was from this past Sunday. So even the junk mail that is identified as junk has stopped!

Whats going on?

I usually get around 15 a day, but all of them have those things at the bottom where you can type in your address, and it pulls it off the email list. I keep getting crap from these companies I "unsubscribe" (I never subscribed in the first place:confused:) from. It is real aggravating.

Do not use the "unsubscribe" .... that only validates your address which can be re-sold as a valid address. I have friends in the marketing business who are solicited to purchase "valid" email addresses.

I wish! I get about 20-50 per day, coming in to several email addresses.

To stop most of your USPS junk mail (once you are fifty or over...) never join AARP! That outfit, and affiliates, are the worst junk mailer abusers going....

Yesterday I got 21, day before I got 19. That's my yahoo email. Yahoo! was kind enough to shove them in the Bulk folder for me. I get almost none at my real email. Of course, I never give it out but to friends and family. If you usually get 2 to 6 but now the numbers have dropped, you must be feeling lonely and unwanted.;) . Open up those junk emails and click on a few of the embedded links, and you'll get real popular real quick.

I get very little on my AOL account that I have had fer 10 years + or -, and my forum addiction, (a few hours every day), is on my AOL account. AOL seems to limit the universe of spammers vs other services usin' universal browsers.

My bidness uses Outlook, n' I get 10 to 20 per hour on there, (every hour) that I have to constantly clean, (very irratating, as I have ta look at each one to make sure it is not one of me clients before I delete).

I'm glad I never did reply to take meself off any of their lists, as I thought that would jus' make it worse, (guess the ol' brain cell werked on that one).

I clean the cookies from surfin' or whatever each night before I go home with Ad Aware, but outlook has a big new load when I get in the next mornin'. If I don't fire up outlook fer a few days whooooooa what a load o' carp ta clean.

My overpriced $.02 JR

The majority of mine are sent to a screened mail folder thanks to comcast, but I cannot find a way to automatically delete them, without me having to do so manually. The only ones that make it to my email are those that are just single persons with just a personal email address, who make feeble attempts to convert anyone that they can find the email address of, to some goofy religion. These sorts of emails generally have every word spelled wrong, and no such punctuation.

I get between one and two hundred a day and they seem to be increasing, but that's because I was stupid and put my emails on my various websites

Given that health care is keeping us alive longer these days, if we all took advantage of those spams for "Breast enhancements", "***** enhancements" and "Viagra", we'd have a population of Octogenerians with perky boobs and enormous male members who had no idea what they were originally for!

I get much less at work now that I've changed jobs (and email addresses). Our company's email is filtered by Spamsoap.com. Spam in my personal email is moderate. I use Gmail and it seems to catch all but one or two spams a day.
