A very common fungus turned out to be the culprit, i have now stopped using the steroidal nose spray (Astepro), the antibiotic (Augmentin 875mg) and prednisone 30mg which my doctor had prescribed.
I now have to keep rinsing with simple saline solution spray or use the neti pot as needed when i'm in Florida, or go for a good dip in the ocean each day, apparently salt have many cures or so it seems.
It actually feels great not to constantly be stuffed up and sneezing all the time, today for the first time in three weeks i went out to lunch without feeling like a pariah.

My missus can be a smart-*** at times, her comment a moment ago was "If Vlad is happy then all is well in the universe"... I forget to take out the garbage like she asked.

When you go to the doctor, also have him check for a fungus infection. This is frequently misdiagnosed as allergies. A relative, also in Fla, had "chronic sinusitis" for decades, but it was really a fungus infection. The constant high humidity there makes it bad. Once that was treated, the problem went away.

YEEEA ! I was right for once!

One other thing I have heard about is a tea pot looking thing
Can't remember the proper name for it
You tilt your head side ways and pour warm salt water
into the upper side and it runs thru and out the other side of your nose
Basically you flush your lower sinus cavity
the people I know that do it swear it is great
I just have not had the guts to do it yet
I take 3 differant over the counter drugs on a rotation every 3 hours

Just do it! It ain't as bad as it sounds. I do it when I get a sinus infection, which happen frequently when the weather changes abruptly. Mix 1/4 tsp of salt with 1 cup of warm water. Squirt it in your nose using a squeeze bulb, like the one used to flush baby ear. Just remember to hold your breath and don't do it without salt, you will be sorry.

I've been using a Neti Pot for a couple of years. It feels great. You have to get the salt just right, and it has to be at the proper temperature, but it does a fantastic job. Really clears things up.

Actually I haven't been bothered by issues like this previously, but in the last 10yrs it has come, & gone, but more recently leaving my nose with a constant nasal drip only during the winter?

All your suggestions are quite good, I will try them in the future if need be

Another reason for this post is, Be careful with medications, especially Antibiotics! I use them sparingly, and found that once when I was sick, & prescribed Keflex (a strong wonder drug) immediately my blood sugar shot up to 400! and I had to call the Dr. to get a different (safer) Antibiotic.

Many years ago my elderly mother was hospitalized with acute pneumonia, and a new drug (that same Keflex) saved her life, But her blood sugar shot up high at the time, even though she was not diabetic! They called her a "stress diabetic" I never heard of such a lame term, 2 wks later she was home, off meds, & well, and never had diabetic symptoms after that!

I have noticed many other meds that raise my blood sugar as well over the yrs. I always look for an alternate med, or if I simply must use a med that spikes me, I use it sparingly.

I seriously think that one reason Diabetes is rampant in this day, & age, is because some people, & kids, nowadays are overmedicated, and the medical community does not realize the side effects. Who knows if someone is prone to Diabetes, and that last prescription drove them over the edge!

Another example: My daughter when very young used to get constant ear infections, and it seems she was always on penicillin, till they found she needed, then had her tonsils, & adenoids out!,,, which cured the problem, but ever since then she is allergic to penicillin! Go figure?!

I've been using a Neti Pot for a couple of years. It feels great. You have to get the salt just right, and it has to be at the proper temperature, but it does a fantastic job. Really clears things up.

What type of salt do you use ?.... I'm not sure if this really matters, but i did use regular table salt for a couple of days after i ran out of the little preformulated packets which came with my Neti Pot.
Getting to the right temp is easy, acquiring the proper salt saturation level has been my problem thus far, when i do get back to Florida in a couple of months i will again be using the pot.
I too dislike taking Medications, it just happens to be an inevitablity that we all have to get use to sooner or later
