hey guys,

so I have a Bayliner Capri 19 ft cuddy cabin that used to have a sterndrive in it but it has been converted to outboard via pod. My boat goes dry all the time so I need to make sure the engine is up all the way and not putting stress on the engine/hull. When I lift my engine (150 black max) the top cowling of the engine hits the transom and and engine is not lifted all the way yet. any suggestions on how to solve this???

No tilt position of the motor is going to reduce the weight of the motor on the bracket or stern. It's weight, not being tilted to less than horizontal, that causes the problems.

A defloppenizer (transom saver) might be a good idea to hold the motor from moving.

It could be adjustable to stop it hitting but if not I've seen people use an old style mercury switch from early model Mercury outboards to limit the UP.
I wouldn't worry too much about the loss of weight transfer if that's what's concerning you as it would be minimal & the transom & pod should be way stronger than that. They can handle the motor full down with 150HP thrashing around in the water & jumping waves etc.
