I have a '95 Johnson 200 hp Ocean Runner that is used in salt water, and was wondering what the consensus is about replacing head gaskets?
Thanks,
-Nick

Replace when there is a diagnosed need, not a PM thing.

I have to say go ahead and bite the bullet every 4 to 5 yrs.If for no other reasons than taking a good look at cylinders, changing tstats, checking water passages and getting a coat of antiseize on those bolts. Then even though you should'nt need to get back in for awhile, you know you can without thinking about broke bolts, drilling,ez outs or retapping.
