3M-847 replaced the old OMC M sealer. When you had a c/c that had a gruve in it at the haves for sealing where you installed a spagetti seal, you used the M sealer. No gruve,just flat surface, Gel-Seal.

I emailed 3M about using 847 in this application and they replied it was "NOT" recommended for bonding the crankcase halves in 2 stroke motors....I dunno oldy from personal experience as I've never tried it

Thanks Boobie, I guess my Fastwin is gonna have to serve as a test for 3M 847 on non-grooved crankcases. Sure hope it's OK.
