Headbolt torque pattern

This is probably a good question for Joe Reeves.<br /><br />Time to put everything back together again (if I can :rolleyes: )<br /><br />50ESL71, 50HP Johnson 1971. I have the Seloc manual and it gives me the torque values but not the pattern, only "tighten evenly and alternately." Does anyone know the pattern for this?<br /><br />Yes, I searched the forums first in case you were wondering JB.<br /><br />Thanks as always!<br /><br />Alex

Alex,<br /> This is basically logical.<br /> Start in the center and work youre way out in a spiral or alternating side to side working youre way out.Do it in about three passes<br />not all at once.

Also check your head. Some of them were numbered in the correct sequence. Look for numbers next to the bolt holes.
