Ok- so I have posted on here numerous times this summer about my Bayliner Capri (Volvo Penta aq125 with 270 outdrive)and how it overheats when under a load over 3000rpms, but its fine otherwise. In neutral, its great, I can run it as high/hard as I want and never overheats. So I went out last saturday and lo and behold, no overheating!! the only tinkering I did was I reattached the short rubber bellow that goes from the exhaust manifold to a large pipe. I noticed it spilling water at the rim the previous time out, so I made sure the connection was good. I weigh 205 and I was skiing being my boat, girlfriend was tubing, others were skiing and no overheating for half the day!! Then, all of a sudden, it decided to act like its old self and begin over heating again.
DAMN!! Everytime we took it above 3000RPMs the temp slowly crept up. -<br /> Could that bellow tightening behind the exhaust manifold have temporarily fixed the heat problem? that is my question this time...I know that it slipped again and now I have retightened it again- going out today. I don't know, but this only confirms that this annoying problem is something simple and easy to fix, but I can't find it!!!! Any suggestions???? Thank you-
