I'm pretty new to boating, I bought a Doral 245 Sunquest 2006 last year, loved it and have already moved up to a Doral Intrigue 2005. Ok so here is the newbie question.

the AC/DC breaker panel. Ok so I see the Main 1 , Gens , Main 2 and Transfer switchs. When the transfer switch is "on" does it meen it takes the current from Main 1 (shoreline) to the DC section of the panel? As you see I'm pretty confused how all th epanel works...thanks for the help.

On our 300SE the transfer switch allows you to apply power to the Main 2 circuit with only a power cord plugged into Main 1.

So, rather than plugging in two shore power cords, I plug into Main 1 then hit the transfer switch and now both circuits are energized. I also have to use it when running the generator since the gen set is only connected to the Main 1 circuit.

Ok so if I understand you right, my Main 1 is on but if I don't use also the transfer switch then my DC panels will work but using the batteries as juice. In a one plug shoreline scenario.

So basically plug the shoreline (one) and put on the Main and transfer switch to on...also when using generator.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

Your DC panel will always use the battery even if you are connected to shore power. On our boat things like the cabin lights, pressure pump etc only run off of DC. When you are on shore power you should turn on your battery charger and that will keep your batteries charged even when using things on the DC panel.

Oh Ok I get it now, So basically plug shore line, hit Main 1 to on, Transfer to on and battery charger to on and I'm all good. Great advice thanks.

Ok problem two, I hear a pump or something continuously, everything is on off but there is still a noise coming from under the first step of the cabin. You have any idea what this might be?

Pressure pump for your fresh water system? That's where mine is in my Prestancia. Maybe you have a leak?

On the 300SE the pump for the shower drain is under the stairs. It is basically the same as your bilge pump can be turned on with a switch or activated via an integral float. My guess is your float is stuck. On our you access from behind the stairs, lift up the floor covering and the pump is in a small box. Remove the lid to the box to gain access to the pump.

That's excactly right, I removed the lid of box, the float isn't stuck but when I left it up and down it just doesn't want to close the small bilge pump. Looks like I have to change the float. Thanks again

btw I added a few pictures of my boat
